Lots of Maths (TCB Togo)

Although it was the market day in Gapé the workshop for the members of SADA took place. They had to face the most difficult subject so far: LibreOffice Calc, the OpenSource Version of Excel. Mathematics. Who likes it anyway? The introduction took some time. Through little tasks, the participants learned how to deal with the program’s surface and tools. What is a function? Where is the cell B6? What is a graph?  Due to the many function of Excel it hard to give a general introduction to this program is such a short period of time, but it was achieved quite well During the afternoon, just a few teachers participated as it was market. Instead a couple of students came to visit the center. We let all work on their own. On Friday, we continued with the Calc for SADA. After the theory, it was the participants’ turn to practice: We prepared to project with which they needed to apply the tools they learned the day before: First, they needed to work with a students’ budget, the other project was about the organization of the marks for a teacher. The teachers were asked to write a letter, as they need to have practice writing with a keyboard. After the second workshop, Felix and Ina went to Lomé, the capital of Lomé, as weekend trip.
