UPDATE: 28th April

Be a Worker, Be a Teacher, Be a Teog!

So, in theory we came here to work with Francis, the Electrician.

Today, I am holding presentations about propper waster separation, their reasons and how an incinerator works. In every ward of the hospital.

Me alone? – Yes, Annika took a bit to hard to the heat and the very differnt food (spicy, oily and very natural) and had to tap out after the first presentation. She recoverd quickly at home with an unnamed brown sugary drink and some sleep.

But why? – Well, if you come somewhere to help, you come to help in any way you can. You you stick to your plan. Your own mission is most important. Still, if the hospital has dire need for a waste separation system, then you figure it out. With your project partner, on your own, with the staff and with the Teog-Team back in Germany. You find the information you need, learn them and then make them your own. You find a way. And that’s the fun! You learn to speak in front of 10 people twice your age and teach them about products out of petrol, why an incinertor needs to burn 800°C and ways to speparte waste. Deal in a postive manner with the slight bitternes out of failed approaches.

And then? – After finishing all the presentations and answering the same questions over and over again(in which bin go the diapers? Why is there smoke coming out right now?) with a smile, Annika and I turned back to our acctualy task. Togehter with francis we fixed a sucction pump for a dental chair, found parts to a dental x-ray and had a second round of fierence battle with the centirfuge. Francis carried the 15-kg thing on this head (!) to the lab to find out, it didn’t work. Took it back.
Took it apart.
Fixed a wire.
Found another one that got loose.
Checked everythign with a Voltmeter
Found a solution
Put it together
Bloody thing stoped working after 2 mintues.
Took it apart.
Sodered two wires on the inside
Tested
Got Loose
Took Apart
Fixed wires
Brought it Back
Now it works!
Took us two solid hours. It now spins at an unknown speed(they’ll figure it out) but it works. Which is the most important one! so all good? WELL…..
When we brought it back and got the service book signed there was a: “we also have this one…it’s broken….”

so we’re back at it tomorrow!
With a smile and a whistle!
