Dry toilet project in Moshi,Tanzania

About the Project

Project description

Dry toilets function without any use of water and separate urine and feces. Through natural processes a decontamination can be achived. The resulting compost can be used as fertilizer on local farms. Due to shortage of water the current sanitary situation at the "Karanga Technical Training Centre“ (KTTC) in Moshi, nothern Tanzania is in need of improvement.

Our main target is to build two dry toilets in cooperation with students and teachers at KTTC. In addition to this project we want to implement the concept of composting and through environmental education improve hygiene and sanitation standards and groundwater quality.
We are hoping to encourage students to accept the dry toilets as a possible business model.

The long term improvement of ground - and drinking water can be achived and the risk of infections reduced.

With your donation you are attributing to a sustainable and social project. The concept of dry toilets has been successfully implemented in various countries all over the world.
