About the Project

Initial Situation

The regional group in Bayangam is active at the kindergarten, elementary school and technical high school in Bayangam. Last year, the RG carried out several activities at these schools, for example the renovovation of the kindergarten and the optimization of waste collection at the technical high school.

Project Goals

To further increase awareness and attract new members, the RG is planning a summer camp for children of different age groups at schools in Bayangam. The planned activities for the children include a workshop on sustainable agriculture, a painting workshop for the youngest children, a soccer tournament, a workshop on improving agribusiness and an IT workshop for young female farmers. There are also plans to continue the renovation work in the kindergarten. A local farmer who practises sustainable agriculture will help with the agricultural workshops and work with the regional group in the long term.

TeoG Summer Camp 2025

Our first summer camp in Bayangam took place in August. Organized by the regional group in Cameroon, more than 30 children were able to take part in ten days of activities focusing on agriculture, medicine, and crafts. These included craft workshops, a first aid course, and a group visit to the market for locally grown fruit and vegetables. Of course, there was also plenty of fun and games as well as sporting activities! The team was supported by Edgar and Rosi from the Rhine-Main regional group and by teachers from the Bayangam kindergarten, where a renovation project was carried out last year. Further improvements are planned for this year. We would like to thank all participants and helpers and are already looking forward to the next summer holidays, when we plan to offer another summer camp with new workshops!

As part of the next summer camp, we would like to set up a small library with French and English books at the primary school.
