Update: 12th May

Through the fire and flames!

Good Morning!
The sun is rising, the trash is collecting. The incinerator is ready!
So let’s set this bad boy on blast! We loaded it with roughly three big trash cans of paper and hospital waste. Close the loading door, the door for scraping out the remains. And turn on the torches. Well one of them. And only for like two minutes. Then the massive fan kicks in. And me hope for the best. We are doubtfull. So we call the engineer who designed it.
We learn that you should use all six torches and for some time as well. Sadly Gas is a little bit expensive. To reduce that time we are currently planning a waste separation system for the hospital. A basic one. Organic, Metal&Glass and everyhting else.

Why is that even a problem?

Well, in Ghana like in many developing countries the relatives have to take care of their sick family members. That means setting the bed, washing cloth, cooking food etc. Thus there are Mangos and Fufu everywhere in it, next to bloody bandages, syringes and water satches. We just couldn’t turn away from that. Which is why we stay in the hospital over the weekend to keep working. There is a trip for the nurses and staff which we were supposed to join to strengthen the bond to our guys and the hosptial. Well the duty is calling and we rise to the challenge.
