Update 24. August: Training day

Third burning today. Their work is semi autonomous by now. We stand back, give advice and correct small mistakes while directing the focus on the important tasks during the burning. The amount of smoke has been drastically reduced with our incinerator in opposite to the old pit system. During the peak time of the incineration we reached temperatures up to 950°C and could burn all needles and medical waste in the fashion intended. Our main goal for the next training is to make them run the place on their own with little to no interference from us. Were confided! We tidied up the place, build a small shelf for the infections waste container, set up a wall with a detailed description on how to use the incinerator and fixed the plaque with the donors and our two NGOs on the wall. The place looks professional now. All metal pars are painted in anti-rust paint and the floor is clean. We love it when a project comes together!
